Wake up America! You are being conned!
President Trump, with the help of Congress and the media, is pulling the oldest trick in the book -- distract everyone with the threat of war with some other country. In this case, North Korea.
PBS news has just used at least half of the broadcast with North Korea; ditto the morning's NPR news and the Washington Post, Section A. By the way, nothing has changed with respect to North Korea -- they have nuclear weapons, they have missiles, and they are perfecting them.
So, from what does President Trump and Congress want to distract us? Let's look at some campaign pledges:
2. Tax reform -- the Administration has a plan the can be reduced to four lines emphasizing cut business taxes and Speaker Ryan has put forth an elaborate lie, but they have done nothing.
3. Infrastructure -- Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zero.
2. The Trump Administration is not running the federal government; they are dismantling programs, cutting budgets, and leaving key staff positions unfilled.
3. The President and his family are busy making money from his being in the White House; and
4. The President and the Congress are on vacation.
