Log Cabin Chronicles

ADRIENNE FISHER

MUSIC IS IN THE AIR

Gregorian chants fill the scented blue air
Rolling over me, seeping into me
I breathe, I sigh, I am simplicity with no frills
absorbing their sounds like dye colors silk

Wind rustles the submissive leaves,
making sounds like ocean waves
moving clouds with a puff that fills me
as the soothing voices climb into me

My eyes close, my thoughts still, and I sit
in that book store on a bench in a trance
and think...let me be...let me go...
until I become air, wind, sky.
