Log Cabin Chronicles

A guide to restaurants in Rangoon

TREVOR LANDERS

At a greasy rest, upstairs
slightly northward, Bungyoke Aung San Market
we share Htamin Lethoke
as an excuse to lick each others fingers
madly, the Kyazangyi Kaukswe sits on the table
loverless,
the rest of the diners
marinating in our juices.

** Htamin lethoke: Mixed fried rice traditionally sticky and eaten with the fingers
** Kyazangyi Kaukswe: Large cellophane noodles in broth.
