JUST FOLKS: LUIGI TIENGO, PAINTER

It's been nearly fifty years since Luigi Tiengo arrived in Montreal from Adria, Italy. And what a lovely trip it's been.

"I've never worked a day in my life," says Luigi, a trim, fit man who looks a decade younger than 77.

That's if you don't define work as a long, successful career as a furniture designer and a lifetime spent creating watercolor paintings.

On the weekend of September 19-21, 2003, he's having an exhibition of some of his watercolors at his rural country studio near Ayer's Cliff, Quebec. The inspiration for these new works is the lovely countryside through which the Tomifobia Bike Path travels.

And he's such a fan of cycling and the nature trail/bike path that's he's donating ten percent of all sales to Sentier Massawippi, the non-profit group that owns and operates the bike path...
