JOHN MAHONEY

The four of us leave in two days for two weeks in England and Ireland and I haven't begun to pack. Still waiting for the polarity line reverser for my laptop hookup. I'll be toting my new Powerbook and my Kodak DC 260 digital camera with 3 compact flash cards totalling 50 megs of storage.

I've never been to Ireland and the last time I was in England was 1956, when I was in the U.S. Army. Jane has never been out of North America. Neither has my cousin Judy. Her husband, Art, was in Portsmouth, England nearly 50 years ago when he was in the U.S. Navy.

Here's the plan: Leave Tuesday at 9:10 p.m. from Montreal's Dorval airport for Heathrow, London, via British Air. Arrive Wednesday at 8:45 a.m., taxi directly to my cousin Kathy's home in Hornchurch, in Essex.

Then, a nice cup of tea and arrange for an internet access account with appleonline.net so I can do this for the next couple of weeks. I've already arranged for 'net access with the folks who operate the three BnBs we will stay at in County Cork.
