Log Cabin Chronicles

WORKAHOLIC

They'll miss me
when I'm gone;
It won't be the same
without me.

I know.

I gave them all my days
and nights
for
years and
years and
years.

I toiled,
produced,
performed,
above
the norms for any
NORMAL
human being.

Ten,
twelve,
fourteen,
sixteen,
eighteen,
hours a day.
EVERY DAY.
And often
weekends too.

Retirement.

It's been a week
and still no call.
I'm sure it's just -
an oversight.
