Log Cabin Chronicles

And take me

The muffled percussion
of light rain
on an old, uneven window pane.

The rumbling drum
of storm drops
on a rusted, tin roof top.

The xylophone jingle
of a rainbow
in a blue grey sky
just slightly bent.

The staccato drill
of full clouds
on a bygone canvas tent.

Wind violins
trombones, saxophones
Of the birch and the ash
and the willows that weep

Whispering grasses
and rustling reeds
in the ponds and the lakes
where the evergreen breathes

Summering symphony
and resonance
cradle you softly
and take me.
